Chelsea had the week off from press conferences, but training-ground footage on Tuesday showed Joao Pedro, Reece James and Moises Caicedo all missing from the session Sky Sports had access to, with no reason yet given for Pedro or James. Caicedo has already sat out the last two league matches with a calf issue. None of this is confirmed as absence for Brentford, but it’s a real doubt worth checking again close to deadline given how central Pedro has been to Chelsea’s returns. At Manchester United, Luke Shaw could return after missing the derby with a minor issue, while Carlos Baleba is being eased back and is being lined up for a return after the international break rather than this week. Brighton’s Georginio Rutter remains “close” without a firm date.
Good News: Returns and Near-Returns
Aston Villa’s Joao Gomes is back available after his three-match domestic ban, though Villa’s midfield rebuild takes another hit almost immediately with Torres and Maatsen now sidelined from the Forest defeat. At Leeds, the story is entirely positive: Jayden Bogle’s deflected involvement in Calvert-Lewin’s goal made him back-to-back double-digit FPL hauls and, remarkably, the game’s top-scoring player so far this season, while Tarik Muharemovic picked up his third defensive-contribution return in four matches. Neither is an injury story, but both are squads settling into a clear, undisrupted system, which in Fantasy terms is its own kind of good news.
